New activity play areas on Oatland Island Wildlife Center trails, Savannah

New installations include train play space, swinging bridges, balance beams, turtle stepping stones & more

Friends of Oatland Island is grateful for the generous support from the Courtney Knight Gaines Foundation in creating activity areas along the Oatland Island Wildlife Center trails!

Installation will continue over the next several weeks, but a new train play space is now open in the picnic area.

The wooden train pays homage to the previous purpose of the building and grounds – a retirement residence for railroad workers (1927-1940).

Portions of the activity areas are already open and ready for exploration between the cougar enclosure and marsh walk.

Kids can enjoy the swinging bridges, balance beams, turtle stepping stones and more!

Keep visiting Oatland Island Wildlife Center to explore the coming features.
